Using An iPhone, My New Toy

So I finally did it: I broke down and got an iPhone.

I like it a lot (more than I thought I was going to like it), and can definately see the koolaid drinking Applesters going gaga over it.

A few things i’ve noticed about it:

  • The lack of a keyboard isn’t as nearly troublesome as I thought it would be. I’m sending emails as normal, and it’s very quick to do so.
  • Getting to the contact list is a bit too far down the list — it takes more than a couple of clicks, which I think is inefficient if your device has the word phone in it’s name.
  • Text messaging isn’t as efficient as I would like, but I’m just picky.

It’s definately better that the Motorola Q i’ve been using. Any thoughts?

The Better Mouse Trap: Apple Now Sells More Music Than Wal-Mart

Proof positive if you build a better, more engaging product, it will lead to more sales — Apple has passed Wal-Mart as the leading U.S. retailer for music (and the only leader retailer in just about any category that’s online only).

More amazing is that Apple holds 19 percent of the space, and the only other on-line retailer is Rhapsody, at one percent. I repeat, one percent.
